Artist Statement
I am for an art whose passion sparks a voice that reawakens light into the darkest crevices of this world. I am for an art that speaks for those who do not have a voice in society; one that raises awareness of the desolate and lost, giving hope that there is an end in sight. I want to create something that will being a moment of clarity into this chaotic world, even if only for a moment.
Passionate designer, creative problem-solver, and dedicated daydreamer, are just a few phrases that accurately describe my character. With an appreciation for learning and knowledge, my interests range in an array of categories such as: the fine arts, culture and anthropology, history, design research and methodology, psychology, music, film, literature, among other branches of learning. Although I am concerned each of those subjects in their respective disciplines, I endeavor to create art that embodies each category cohesively into an inclusive medium which can incorporate many outside influences into a body of work. Inspiration can come from the most unlikely of places, and merged with innovation, creativity and a strong foundation of design principles and research methodology, a body of work can make an impact and create meaning in a world filled with chaos.
I am not only an artist. I am a creator, and I am a visual researcher and innovator.
Art, in its purest form, finds its foundation amongst mistakes, doubts, and insecurities. It is finding a way to convey emotion and meaning while also discovering the beautiful in the midst of the broken.
